The Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences in the University of Oregon’s College of Education invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in our nationally ranked School Psychology program.  The position is at the Assistant or Associate rank, with scholarly expertise open.  We are especially interested in a scholar with a record of extramural funding whose research is complementary to our strengths in prevention and intervention for school-aged children and families.  The University of Oregon is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse institution and seeks candidates with demonstrated potential to contribute positively to its diverse community.  The appointment begins September 16, 2015.

Required Qualifications

(1)   Earned doctoral degree in school psychology or related discipline (e.g., special education, child clinical psychology)

(2)   Established record or evidence of strong potential in scholarship relevant to school psychology, with specific areas of scholarship open

(3)   Established record or evidence of potential for obtaining external funding

(4)   Ability to work in multicultural settings with diverse populations

(5)   Ability to teach, advise, and mentor graduate students in research and practice

(6)   Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within the program and department, and across the College of Education

Desired Qualifications

(1)   Eligibility for school psychology licensure in Oregon

(2)   Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Oregon

(3)   Preference will be given to candidates with strong scholarly records in one or more of the following areas: (a) autism and developmental disabilities, (b) assessment, prevention, and intervention in the area of anti-social behavior and school violence, (c) assessment, prevention, and intervention in the area of academic skills, and (d) cognition and neuroscience.

Responsibilities

(1)   Teach graduate courses related to school psychology, consistent with program and departmental instructional needs

(2)   Advise and provide research supervision to doctoral students in the school psychology program

(3)   Conduct an active, externally funded program of research and scholarship in conjunction with one of our many University or College research centers or institutes (e.g., Prevention Science Institute, Center on Teaching and Learning, Educational and Community Supports, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities)

(4)   Provide department, college, university, and professional service

(5)   Contribute to program, department, college, and university governance
