The UO Libraries are building a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary, short-term appointments. Positions will be of a limited duration, not to exceed one year, but with the possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years depending on need, funding and performance. Assignments vary in location and function, depending on need, and may include but are not limited to: reference service in the Knight Library or branch libraries, delivering instructional sessions, technical processing, collections management, special collections and archives, educational technology projects, and/or digital library development projects.
An American Library Association-accredited MLIS degree or foreign equivalent for librarian positions; and/or professional experience and/or relevant coursework in specific areas of library service relevant to the temporary need (e.g. reference, special collections and archives, metadata management, assessment, etc.); excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The successful candidate for any position will support and enhance a diverse learning and working environment, and may be required to complete a criminal background check.
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and the pool will remain active through April 1, 2015. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available, and will continue until positions are filled.
