POSITION: Video Production Assistant
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT: Full time, twelve month position
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in broadcasting, communications or related field. Two years’ experience in video production required. Knowledge of nonlinear editing techniques and equipment required. Two years’ experience with Final Cut Pro, and Adobe family of applications including but not limited to Premier, After Effects, and Photoshop Must be both Mac and PC proficient. Two years’ experience with HD cameras and formats including Panasonic P2 and DLSR’s. Working knowledge of XOS Thunder and Hudl game analysis is preferred. Experience working with diverse population preferred. Must demonstrate motivation, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, keen interest in sports and willingness to work as a member of a team.
Acquire, log and edit highlight videos for all sports. Assist Video Coordinator in producing high quality video content for all sports within the athletic department.
Acquire footage from no less than ½ off all sports home contests.
Responsible for recording all opponent games available on TV/satellite.
Responsible for upkeep of cameras and associated peripherals, (batteries, tripods, lenses and media).
Supervises student intern’s assisting with acquisition and professional contractors when needed.
May travel for post-season contests for filming of games determined by that sport and/or the Video Coordinator.
Log and organize footage based on sport and player for recall in editing and future productions or requests.
Assist in filling outside requests for footage to national and local broadcast entities as well as internal departments.
Assist Video Coordinator in allocating storage and well as server maintenance.
Create, produce and edit final videos for each sports year ending highlight video for use on website, at banquet or in Hall of Champions.
Work with outside contractors for post-production graphics and sound effects creation.
Adheres to and enforces all policies, rules and regulations of the Athletic Department, University of Oregon, Pacific-10 Conference, NCAA and other authorities that may legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics programs.
