Position: The Department of the History of Art & Architecture at the University of Oregon invites applications for a 1-year leave replacement position in the history of Japanese art; secondary expertise in another Asian tradition highly desired.
Rank & Salary: Fixed-term appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant professor, 1.00 FTE.
Contract Date: 16 September, 2013-15 June, 2014
Duties: Primary responsibilities are to teach five courses distributed over an academic year comprising three 10-week terms. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a Japanese art survey, as well as a mix of upper-level undergraduate and graduate-level courses, and to assist in graduate advising.
Qualifications: Ph.D. and university-level teaching experienced preferred; advance ABDs with significant teaching experience may be considered.
