POSITION: Visiting Assistant Professor (sabbatical replacement position). Harold Schnitzer Family Program in Judaic Studies and Department of Religious Studies, University of Oregon.
RANK & SALARY: Fixed-term appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, 1.00 FTE.
CONTRACT DATE: September 16, 2013 through June 15, 2014
DUTIES: Primary responsibilities are to teach five undergraduate courses. Ability to teach second year Biblical Hebrew language courses, the teaching of classical Hebrew texts, teaching REL 222 Introduction to the Hebrew Bible, and other appropriate teaching responsibilities in the general area of Hebrew Bible studies is required. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS: ABD in Bible or a closely related discipline required, PhD preferred; prior teaching experience in North American University preferred.
