Officer of Administration
The program coordinator shall be responsible for all aspects of the Summer Enrichment Program for Talented and Gifted Students, including pre-planning activities and hiring and supervision of all staff. In general, the program coordinator provides leadership for all aspects of the program.
* (This position begins at .50 FTE and will increase to 1.0 FTE for approximately three months on or around June1, 2013).
Minimum of earned Bachelor’s Degree
Administrative skills and experience
Strong oral and written communications skills
Experience with middle school-aged and high school-aged students
Computer skills required
Teacher experience recommended
Experience with the SEP preferred
Familiarity with the University of Oregon
Experience in marketing preferred
Working knowledge of HTML and website management
Oversee all activities required for the planning and implementation of the Summer Enrichment Program for talented students grades 6 through 12, including the following:
Coordinate marketing of the program
Generate and oversee program budget
Manage student/staff database
Communicate with statewide TAG coordinators for promotion purposes
Coordinate hiring, training, and supervising of all Summer Enrichment Program staff (administrators, teachers, residence hall counselors, and clerical staff)
Design curricula in concert with Teacher Supervisor
Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings of administrative staff before and during the program
Monitor development of staff manuals
Oversee all purchasing and distribution of supplies and materials
Coordinate arrangements for residential, recreational and classroom facilities with appropriate University departments (i.e. conference services, scheduling, academic departments)
Oversee student registration process
Monitor all evaluation of SEP procedures and complete annual report
Serve as liaison between program and other University departments, parents, and public and private schools and effect all necessary arrangements with them
Provide support services for moving in and out of the residence halls
Live in residence halls 24 hours a day for four and one half weeks (during staff orientation and both two-week sessions while serving as primary administrator responsible for meeting the needs of students, staff, parents and the University)
