Adjunct Instructors: The architecture and interior architecture programs at the University of Oregon invite applications for part-time and limited-duration positions to teach courses in professional subjects, including drawing courses, furniture design, fabrication, construction documents, as well as design studios.

One-term Distinguished Visiting Faculty Positions:  The Frederick Charles Baker Chair in Architectural Design, with a special focus on the study of light and lighting; the Pietro Belluschi Distinguished Professor in Architectural Design; the Margo Grant Walsh Professor in Interior Architectural Design; and the Julie Neupert Stott Visiting Professor in Interior Architectural Design.  Appointments to the distinguished professorships are made from a continuing pool of candidates.

Successful candidates will have either academic or professional experience in their teaching area, demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. An advanced degree in architecture or interior architecture or an allied field is required.  A professional master’s degree or PhD is preferred.   In exceptional circumstances, significant professional experience in a relevant field may substitute for the advanced degree.

Adjunct Research Assistant or Associates:  Conduct research under the direction of an architecture or interior architecture faculty member.  A master’s degree or a PhD is preferred.  In exceptional circumstances, a BA or BS degree and evidence of substantial professional experience in a relevant field may substitute for the advanced degree.  Hires from this pool may require a background check.

Appointments are for one term or multiple terms, and may be renewed for up to three years.  These appointments are contingent on funding.  Salary is dependent on education and experience.

Applications for all positions will be accepted on a continuous basis and the pool will remain active through January 2014.  Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.  Applications will be kept on file and you will be contacted as appropriate openings occur.

To apply, send a statement of interest and a current resume or curriculum vitae to:  Department of Architecture, Adjunct Pool, 1206 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR  97403-1206.  Phone (541) 346-3656.
