Term:  1.0 FTE for 12 months; annual renewal
Salary Range:  $39,000-43,000 for twelve months.  Benefits include standard Oregon State System of Higher Education Benefits package.

The University of Oregon is seeking an experienced advisor for fraternities and sororities.  The Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life (D-FSL) has primary responsibility for developing, leading and maintaining advising and support services for affiliated fraternities and sororities and their associated constituency groups.  These groups include local alumni advisory groups/boards, Inter/national headquarters, various City of Eugene agencies, house directors/live-in advisors and parents and families.  The position reports to the Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students and is part of a broader leadership education and development initiative for the campus community.  The Office of the Dean of Students is committed to advancing student learning that builds community and is one of eight departments within the Division of Student Affairs and reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs.  The percentage of the duties and responsibilities of the position are advising, training and supporting the fraternity and sorority community (80%) and FSL Administrative (15%) and other office and division responsibilities as assigned (5%).

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in student personnel or related field
  • At least one year professional experience with a fraternity/sorority headquarters or as a Greek advisor on a college campus or two years experience in student leadership development in a Student Affairs office or comparable college unit with demonstrated direct experience with fraternities and sororities
  • Experience in supervision of staff and undergraduate students
  • Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to working to create an environment inclusive of all cultures and people
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications

Preferred

  • Master's degree in student personnel or related field
  • Three or more years experience working with Fraternities and Sororities as a member of fraternity/sorority national staff or college Fraternity and Sorority advising staff, including programming
  • Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating training for students
  • Experience writing reports and program promotional publications
  • Computer proficiency related to program promotion, marketing materials and use of modern technology
  • Supervisory and budgetary experience
