The Department of Romance Languages invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Spanish with a specialization in Caribbean Literature and Culture, beginning in Fall 2013. We are specifically interested in candidates with expertise in Caribbean/Caribbean diaspora literature and cultural history. We welcome applications from scholars whose work engages in a critique of Latin American studies as a discipline and/or makes connections between Hispanophone, Francophone, Lusophone, and Anglophone cultural production. The successful candidate will teach courses at the upper-division undergraduate and graduate level. We are a creative department in the process of enhancing our program and seek candidates with a strong publication record, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and professional level proficiency in Spanish and English. Ph.D. in hand by Fall 2013.
