The Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Oregon occasionally hires research assistants to assist with grant-supported research.  Positions are temporary or part-time associates for one term (ten weeks) or multiple-terms, not to exceed one-year, with the possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years, at the discretion of the hiring authority and taking into consideration need, funding and/or performance.  Successful Research Assistant applicants should have a B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field and will be conducting research under the direction of a faculty member for the purpose of acquiring research training.  Successful Research Associate applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field and will receive only general guidance while conducting research.

We invite applications to be considered on a continuous basis and the pool will remain active through the 2012-13 academic year.  Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.  Hires from this pool may be subject to a background check.  Please send a cover letter specifying areas of research interest and a resume to employ-research@cs.uoregon.edu.  If you have any questions, you may contact Jan Saunders, Office Manager for the Computer and Information Science Department, at 541-346-1375.

The University of Oregon is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse institution and seeks candidates with demonstrated potential to contribute positively to its diverse community.
