Salary range:  $33,000 - $38,000 annual
Term:  12 months, renewable annually

General Statement of Duties

The University of Oregon (UO) President’s Office seeks applications for an Executive Coordinator (EC) for the Statutory Faculty and University Senate. Responsibilities include generating and maintaining public records and organizing Statutory Faculty elections.  The Executive Coordinator for the Statutory Faculty also fills the position of Executive Coordinator for the University Senate, reporting to the University Senate President and the President’s Office.

The EC is an ex-officio and non-voting member of the Statutory Faculty, University Senate, Senate Executive Committee, and Committee on Committees.  S/he works jointly with the Statutory Faculty Assembly, the University Senate, and the University President’s Office.  S/he has the authority to independently make decisions on behalf of the Senate president and University President’s Office regarding issues related to Senate decisions and actions.

The EC possesses an in-depth understanding of the university’s academic environment and strong working knowledge of university policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate for this position will hold a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of three years work experience in higher education OR a master’s degree; demonstrated experience working with, and interpreting, organizational policies and procedures; ability to use effective independent judgment; demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures; demonstrated ability to work with large and diverse constituencies at all levels of a complex organization; a high level of organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize a challenging workload; and extensive knowledge of parliamentarian procedure.  This position is subject to a criminal background check.
