School Psychology invites applications for its adjunct instructor/supervisor pool. Appointments may range from one to three terms per year, including summer, and appointment level depends on teaching or supervision load. There is a possibility of renewal for up to 3 years based on instructional needs, funding and teaching or supervision performance. The department anticipates hiring instructors for undergrad or graduate level courses in the following content areas:  instruction and assessment; statistics; school psychology; research methods; behavior management; tests and measurement; foundations; methods of teaching; child and adolescent studies; multicultural education; and other research and education-related areas.

Duties may include practicum supervision, course preparation, classroom teaching, preparation and evaluating of student assignments and exams, and scheduled office hours. Some courses meet during evenings or weekends.  Limited travel within Lane County may be required for supervisor positions.

Successful candidates will have professional experience in one or more of the content areas listed above, demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. Depending upon the nature of the position, a master’s or Ph.D. in School Psychology or related areas is required.  In exceptional circumstances, a Bachelor’s degree with significant professional experience in a relevant field may substitute for a Masters or Doctorate degree. Previous successful experience with the course(s) and relevant experience in university level instruction is preferred.

Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and the pool will remain active through June 30, 2013.  Qualified candidates who will promote and enhance the college’s commitment to diversity are encouraged to apply. Screening of applicants will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled. Send current vita, letter of interest indicating content area of expertise from those named above, and two professional or academic references to: Instructor Applicant Pool, School Psychology, 5261 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403-5261.
