The English Department, University of Oregon, is seeking applicants for its open adjunct instructor pool. Applicants must have a M.A. in English for teaching expository writing courses, a Ph.D. in English to teach literature courses, and demonstrated successful college level teaching experience appropriate to our needs and to our existing programs. Applicants with training and experience teaching argumentative writing preferred. Our anticipated needs will most likely be in one or more of the following areas: lower and upper-division expository writing, introductory courses in fiction, drama, poetry, Shakespeare and English literature; upper division courses in American novel and 20th Century literature. The successful candidates will be expected to have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Positions are for one year or less, with the possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years, based on need and funding.
