The Institute of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Oregon wishes to establish a pool of applicants for potential fixed-term, limited duration, adjunct research assistant (bachelor's degree required) or research associate (Ph.D. required) positions. FTEs may vary. Positions may be renewable for up to three years depending upon performance, funding, and need. Research assistants will conduct research under the guidance of the laboratory director, research associates will conduct research with only general guidance.
Some positions may require extensive experience with molecular techniques and/or extensive previous experience in a similar research setting. Areas of research may include molecular evolution, evolutionary genetics, evolution of development, theoretical ecology, microbial ecology, pathogen-host interactions, global change, biological oceanography, biogeochemistry, population biology, community dynamics, and ecosystem ecology.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and the pool will remain active through 3/31/13. Screening of applications occurs as positions become available and continues until positions are filled. Successful candidates will have the ability to work in a team atmosphere and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
