Term:  1.0 FTE for 12 months (renewable annually)

Salary Range:  $35,000 – 45,000 (commensurate with experience)

General Responsibilities:

The University of Oregon is seeking applications for the Operations Manager position in University Development.  The Operations Manager will assist in implementing the management and operational directives of the Senior Director/Chief of Staff for the Vice President of Development by managing the office operations for the University Development office (approximately 80+ staff) located in the Ford Alumni Center.  This position will develop systems and office procedures to streamline office operations; provide advanced, diversified and confidential executive-level administrative support to be accomplished either directly or through oversight of administrative staff; and will be responsible for facilitating the communication of information and directives within University Development and its programs.  Additionally, this position will establish and maintain vendor services and contracts relating to office supplies, furniture, and equipment; and will work directly with Campus Operations, Telecommunications Services, and Public Safety to coordinate services to meet the complex needs of the department. 

This position regularly requires the exercise of independent judgment, analyzing, comparing and evaluating various courses of action; requires a comprehensive knowledge of campus operations, rules and regulations; and will handle a wide-ranging set of assignments, including many sensitive and confidential issues.  For questions regarding this position contact University Development at 541-346-3016. 

Qualifications:  Required qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Additional requirements include: two years of experience in office or facility management; demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures; supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning and evaluating work, and handling disciplinary problems; proven proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook (or similar scheduling/calendar program), and familiarity with Microsoft Office and routine software applications.  The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated superior customer service skills; and the ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures while supporting a welcoming and inclusive environment.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in higher education development and an understanding of the nature of a professional school and research university.  Prior to hire, the finalist in this position must successfully complete a criminal background check.
