Early Childhood CARES is opening an applicant pool for positions that may be part-time, temporary, or of limited duration. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years depending on need, funding and performance. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and the pool will remain active for one year. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related area, a valid Oregon license for Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, and experience developing and implementing motor programs and providing treatment to preschool children from birth to school age. Provide education and support to teachers, classroom staff, parents, other caregivers and family members about motor development, goals, positioning, handling, feeding, and activities of daily living skills.
Provide direct physical and/or occupational therapy services when specified on a child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Evaluate children with standardized and criterion referenced assessment tools in the motor domains to determine eligibility for early intervention/early childhood special education services, determine long and short term goals and outcomes, and monitor progress.
Coordinate and collaborate with other motor specialists, families, and other professionals to deliver integrated and effective services.
Write and/or review motor goals on children’s IFSP’s, and initiate and maintain other forms and reports as required by regulation and in accordance with agency guidelines.
