Early Childhood CARES is opening an applicant pool for positions that may be part-time, temporary, or of limited duration. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal for up to 3 years depending on need, funding and performance. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and pool will remain active for one year. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.
Required qualifications include: Masters Degree in EI/ECSE with TSPC licensure or ODE authorization preferred. Applicants with experience in early intervention and early childhood special education with expertise in assessment, behavior intervention and consulting with preschools and families are preferred. Special Education Specialists will:
Write, monitor, and implement IFSPs. Must understand the laws and rules related to special education and requirements.
Teach and consult with and train parents, teachers and other adults, both one-on-one and in group settings.
Work directly with children doing interventions, evaluations, and assessments.
Manage classrooms or groups (if applicable) and organize schedules, plan activities, and train/supervise staff.
Have knowledge and experience with different disabilities, intervention strategies, treatments, and research.
Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with families, co-workers, and community partners.
