o The University of Oregon Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art invites applications for a part-time (.5 FTE) Custodian.
o Generally the shift is Wednesday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; there may be additional hours required because of special events.
o This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.
o University of Oregon positions that are at least half-time are eligible for excellent benefits, including health and dental, employer-paid retirement, and tuition benefits for employee or an eligible dependent, sick and vacation leave.

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST HAVE:
* Equivalent to at least one year full-time experience as a custodian responsible for floor care.
* Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision and willingness to work as a part of a team.
* Basic computer skills.
Preference will be given for candidates with experience operating equipment such as high speed floor burnishers and auto scrubbers.
Position is subject to criminal background check and successful completion of physical exam and Essential Function Test.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and presentable museum environment. Duties include:
... cleaning public areas such as galleries, lobbies, reception areas, store, cafe, restrooms, offices, and exterior courtyards, including sweeping, dusting, mopping; vacuuming and shampooing carpets; cleaning and protecting marble and wood floor finishes; cleaning displays and signage; emptying garbage and recycled materials.
... assisting for special events, including setting up chairs and tables and final cleaning; cleaning non-public areas of building such as preparation space, wood shop, collection storage, staff kitchen.
... stocking bathroom and kitchen supplies, maintaining inventory, and ordering when necessary.
... maintaining exterior areas, including shoveling snow; removing leaves, debris, and litter right outside of building; cleaning windows inside and out, cleaning furnishings; cleaning entries and pathways to the museum.
This position works occasionally on ladders, scaffolds and lift equipment; requires the ability to work with germicidal, sanitizing, and other cleaning products; and requires ability to walk extensively, lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, and perform repetitious movements.

Indicate experience where you had to follow a routine set of duties and work at a quick pace, both alone and as a member of a team. Indicate experience cleaning restrooms, offices, public spaces, and exterior areas.
3. Describe your experience stocking and maintaining inventory of supplies, ordering supplies, and maintaining computer records.
