o The University of Oregon Law School invites applications for a full-time Business Office Assistant (Office Specialist 1).
o This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.
o University of Oregon positions that are at least half-time are eligible for excellent benefits, including health and dental, employer-paid retirement, and tuition benefits for employee or an eligible dependent, sick and vacation leave.
o Due to budgetary shortfalls, the person appointed to this position will be required to take some unpaid furlough days between date of hire and June 30, 2013.
o This recruitment is open to any applicant who meets the qualifications listed below.


... completion of courses or training in office technology; OR
... one year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
... equivalent combination of training and experience.

In addition this position requires:

* Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft office software, including Word and Excel.
* Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a high-paced and demanding law office environment.
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service/client relations skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
* Proven attention to detail with an affinity for working with numbers.

Preferred qualifications:

* At least three years of office work experience, an associate's degree with office experience, or completion of accounting courses from an accredited college or university.

This position provides accounting, human resources, and general office support for the UO School of Law's business office. Duties include:
... providing general office support, including administering accounting, payroll and human resources record retention processes; distributing monthly finance reports; completing printing, copying, and mailing projects; maintaining general office space, supplies, and equipment; auditing timesheets for law school personnel and student workers.
... answering questions and providing information and assistance regarding business office policies and procedures; purchasing supplies; preparing travel authorizations.
... providing accounting support, including coding invoices and reimbursements and entering relevant and required data into Banner Financial Information System; processing journal vouchers and travel reimbursements; preparing deposits; researching vendor payments as necessary.
