o Campus Operations at the University of Oregon invites applications for a full-time Laborer 1.
o This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.
o University of Oregon positions that are at least half-time are eligible for excellent benefits, including health and dental, employer-paid retirement, and tuition benefits for employee or an eligible dependent, sick and vacation leave.
o Due to budgetary shortfalls, the person appointed to this position will be required to take unpaid furlough days between date of hire and June 30, 2013.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supports the Campus Operations mission by responding to emergency calls for custodial and general labor services. Duties include:
.. responding to customer service requests, including cleaning up spills, carpet and floor spotting; making minor deliveries on campus.
... delivering custodial supplies campus-wide following designated route and supply list; delivering tables, chairs, and lecterns for classrooms, arranging or rearranging furniture per specifications.
... responding to minor plumbing problems in restrooms and custodial closets; hanging or moving dispensers; making emergency repair to classroom furniture.
... driving pickup trucks, vans, and trucks; locking and unlocking doors; reporting maintenance problems that require skilled specialists; servicing and performing minor repairs on custodial equipment; setting up and taking down equipment and furniture for events.
Position works in an industrial setting where temperatures, lighting, noise level and air quality will vary. Requires ability to work with germicidal, sanitizing, and other cleaning products; occasional work on ladders; daily trips outdoors; and ability to walk, lift, stoop, and perform repetitious movements. Must respond to campus-wide custodial emergencies.
