o University of Oregon Campus Operations invites applications for a full-time Administrative Program Assistant in the Central Power Station. This position is limited duration and expected to last less than two years.
o This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.
o University of Oregon positions that are at least half-time are eligible for excellent benefits, including health and dental, employer-paid retirement, and tuition benefits for employee or an eligible dependent, sick and vacation leave.
o Due to budgetary shortfalls, the person appointed to this position will be required to take unpaid furlough days between date of hire and June 30, 2013.
o This recruitment is open to any applicant who meets the qualifications listed below.


... three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and
... lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.

In addition this position requires professional experience with standard office software including: word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and e-mail; strong analytical skills; excellent writing and proofing skills; excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures; high level of accuracy in working with technical details.

Prefer experience using a Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); completion of college-level writing courses or technical writing courses.

This position provides administrative support to the Central Power Station unit within Campus Operations. Duties include:
... researching and collecting various equipment information from the Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Systems Manuals, FAMIS Planned Maintenance System, and other reference documents; distilling relevant information and documenting specific components; using information collected to create an electronic multi-searchable table of contents and index.
... developing a user-friendly interactive retrieval system from the table of contents and index with the capability to query relevant equipment information, such as plant nomenclature of equipment research, blue print design document number, FAMIS equipment ID number and specification section number.
... developing and entering planned maintenance tasks into FAMIS and the Computerized Maintenance Management System; collaborating with Operations Supervisor and plant operators to develop standard operating and emergency operating procedures.


Requires the ability to spend prolonged periods of time working at a computer work station. Central Power Station operates in a Boiler and Heavy Machinery Environment with an attached office area and outdoors environment and as such is subject to wide ranges of environmental conditions. Must be able to work in an environment with noise, heat, and other industrial hazards that will include using stairs and ladders, transiting equipment spaces via catwalks, perforated decking, permanently hung steel ladders, and low hanging piping and ductwork.
