TO QUALIFY YOU MUST HAVE:
... three months of setup and operation experience with a variety of audiovisual equipment.
In addition this position requires ability to read and understand technical manuals and related documentation; ability to communicate effectively in non-technical terms with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students; excellent customer service skills; valid driver's license and good driving record.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides direct audiovisual services to faculty, staff, and students in the College of Education. Duties include:
... receiving requests for equipment delivery; scheduling the use of equipment; delivering and setting up equipment in conference rooms, classrooms, private offices and off-site venues; operating equipment; returning equipment to storage area.
... performing preventive maintenance on audiovisual equipment, including cleaning; replacing bulbs, belts, and batteries; replacing screws, hardware and broken parts; using voltmeters, and tools, and service manuals to locate the source of minor equipment problem and make minor repairs; reporting the need for major repairs and/or scheduling repairs.
... instructing and assisting faculty, staff, and students on correct operating techniques of audiovisual equipment; overseeing student employees in the setup and operation of equipment; checking out equipment to faculty, staff, and students; taking telephone, e-mail, and in person requests for services; maintaining physical inventory of equipment.
Position is exposed for long periods of time to AV equipment, computer screen and terminal. Position works with frequent interruptions by individuals with conflicting deadlines. Requires ability to move heavy furniture and equipment and bend, lift, stoop, and reach.
